Team In-House Support: We help a wide range of sports enterprises, including organizations in the NFL, NBA and MLS governing bodies, and universities, to support their in-house legal teams and other business units with drafting and negotiating various types of commercial agreements, providing legal and compliance counsel on promotional, ticketing, and marketing-related issues, and other day-to-day legal issues.

International Sports: Vela Wood has a growing international sports practice, which is focused on representing national associations, regional confederations and soccer (football) officials in proceedings before various international sports entities, including at the international federation level, as well as in arbitration before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. We routinely advise clients on matters related to FIFA’s rules and regulations, the World Anti-Doping Code (“WADA Code”) and the rules and regulations of other international sports associations.

Fantasy Sports & Gaming Law: At Vela Wood, we have substantial knowledge of several different areas of gaming law and have significant experience counseling and providing legal opinions on federal and state law relating to fantasy sports.
